People Were Coming To Hear Something You Cannot Buy

"Can't buy me love"

Where does it all go from here? So often in our early years we trudge ahead with our plans and ideas, not really knowing where and how they are all going to play out. Kind of like chasing something we can never catch. Perhaps the hardest thing to achieve in life is to be satisfied, In this there is peace, peace in your very soul. It is kind of a double edged sword however, as the unrest is what drives your soul to tell stories that are better out than in, and in the case of songwriters, poets, and artists, their stories are a reflection of the world in which we live, whether we agree with them or not.

At various times in our life we may feel the need to ask ourselves,"where does it all go from here?" Bob Dylan said that the music was never about the money in the beginning, meaning in his early years, and no one had any, as far as musicians went. People were coming to hear something that you cannot buy. Personally I believe that when money enters, it changes everything from the ground up. When you get lost along the way, some side roads might be interesting but its a harder journey when you aren't clear on the destination. So what is the destination? Is it a place where the world is quieted around us where our hearts and minds seek the refuge of a knowing that human words simply can't explain and when we find it we never want to let it go? "like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all that he had and bought that field".

People were coming to hear something you cannot buy. Treasure in a field.
