We were away for a little break to Vancouver Island and on our journey we came across a bench that had been placed so that its sitters would face the ocean and oncoming waves at the beach. The bench was placed there in honour of a couple and their names were engraved in a metal nameplate. The nameplate also said in bold letters "Be Here Now". I am thinking that it was a message to be in the moment. To savour the moment, not living in the past or worrying about the future. There is a poster on our wall that says amongst many other words, "My Name is not I was", "My Name is not I will be", "My Name is I Am". I think more than ever we are existing in the I was and the I will be instead of embracing the I am. Irene and I really enjoyed our walk on "Whiffen Spit, and the beauty of the Island.I was able to start work on a song that I shared on my Gene Murphy Music facebook page, gene_murphy_music on instagram.
Shimmering on the water you speak
If we can just get to the water
You could pull the days apart like petals
You lead us to wander
The mystery with others
Yet really all alone
You wish to speak to just us
Each flower gains its own life
Dies and lives
Shrubs along the pathway
Roots across the walkway
You could still the breeze like time
You lead us to wander
The mystery with others
Yet really all alone
You wish to speak to just us
Each flower gains its own life
Dies and lives
Be Here Now
